BAT Actions are manufactured with the idea that “the best is not good enough.” We strive for perfection on every action we manufacture. These actions have the LiFe Salt Bath Nitriding process done to the majority of the components.

The surgeon actions are a little too tacticool for my taste. The same reason I would not go with the built in picitinny rail on the BAT. Several dealers stock BAT actions so the wait time is moot. The last one shows the recess machined to accommodate the roller – this is not visible when the firing pin/shroud is screwed into the bolt body.

Not every action, but some of every manufacturer out there… A heavier or otherwise more robust striker system would probably help lots of Benchrest actions . This example was sold new at Niantic Motors in East Lyme, Connecticut in July 1968 and spent time in Missouri prior to the current owner’s acquisition in 2006. This 1973 Mini 1001 was built by Innocenti in Italy under license from British Leyland, and was imported to the US in 2001 under previous ownership.

The Seekins Precision Enhanced Bolt Catch comes standard on the SP223. Shooters can easily drop the bolt from either side with our ambi-bolt release feature. Custom screw in dowel pins are used to secure these components, eliminating the use of roll pins, hammers, and pin punches for installation. The 3LL action is 8.43″ long and can be ordered in several body shapes, the starting weight is 38.5 ounces, the load port length is 3.325″ and the barrel tenon is 1.062 x 18 tpi.

Slick bolt movement on axis; steep lever angle and small knob make it unlikely that you’ll bind the action with upward pressure. Wide recoil lug; might need some fitting on a few stocks, namely older AIs. BAT makes a narrower lugged version exclusively for Wolf Precision called the BTA. Check out the Wolf’s Interchangeable Chamber Barrel System for the VR and BTA. The screw-in chamber means you can get your gun re-barreled in days instead of weeks.
